FAQs

Do you take my insurance?

Right now, I am doing cash pay only. My rate is $125 an hour. If I feel I can be helpful to someone in therapy and my rate us unaffordable, I can offer a few scholarships at a lower rate. If those slots are open, I would be happy to offer them based on a predetermined set of qualifications that I will use across the board ethically and fairly.

I can offer a super bill to take to your insurance company for reimbursement. Here is a description of a superbill and what to do. Check with your insurance company to be sure this is an approach that will work for you.

If you have an HSA account, you might also have eligibility. Here is a resource describing that route of payment. Once again, check with your HSA provider to verify and communicate with me what their requirements are. We can decide from there how to proceed.

How do I know if therapy will help?

A good measurement of whether it could help you is if there is a problem that you might be too close to and you can’t seem to see a solution. It isn’t a failure of character to feel stuck. Therapy is a lantern of sorts, a light trained to see the sticking points in your relationships or behavior patterns. We can then mirror those things back to you, and explore what they might mean and what you’d like to do going forward. I am ethically obligated to not have any other role in your life besides being your mental health provider, so you don’t have to worry that what you say in session will show up in other places (with the limitation of imminent and foreseeable harm to you or someone else). Confidentiality is a very important part of why therapy is helpful.

What therapy modalities do you use?

I like to use a few modalities. My services will include interventions from Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to name a few. It is a core value to give evidence-based best practices to my clients.
